[Uniko Studio] April 2014 Release - Bonus Design Team Blog Hop

Hi everyone. We are finally able to celebrate the April Release the Uniko Studio way. Poor Bev has been battling all those "not in her control" factors, but we all finally have those products in our hands and wanna show you some ideas with these new cool stamps.

This card showcases Background Builders: Vines and since Mother's Day is around the corner, this is the perfect set.

Background Builders: Vines

The inspiration for my card came from watching this video by the ever so talented Jennifer McGuire. I picked gold as my center, focal point and this nice, big sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #5. I started with embossing the center sentiment with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.

I started with stamping the larger blooms in Eggplant, followed by adding some of the smaller flower accents in Ocean and Winter. I then tried to fill in the white spaces with the second largest flowers in the set Lollipop. I love that the roses come in solid as well as the details of the petals. With just two stamping passes, the cute pink roses come quickly to life. I love the added dimensions that the roses have, don't you? After that I stamped a bunch of little detailed dots in Delicata Gold to tie everything together.

The background is Background Builders Circles stamped in Versamark and then embossed with clear Stamp 'n Stuff embossing powder. This just finishes the card up together with a little bit of more detail without detracting from the center.

Make sure to visit all the girl's creations. Here is the list for easy perusing.

Bev will also be drawing a lucky winner amongst the blog to win the entire April Release or a gift certificate of equal value, if you already own the goodies. You have until May 30th, 11:59 BST.

[Paperplay Challenges] Week No. 19 - Chipboard

Note: If you are looking for DYSU challenge - please keep scrolling :)

Hello there! I'm ready for this week to finish. I hope the weekend is good, because I am planning to go into New York. I have a much needed date planned with my hunny. We've been wanting to watch a musical of some sorts for a long while. Any suggestions? My bucket list has Wicked, Avenue Q, Billy Elliott, and Book of Mormons. But we're here to introduce a new challenge...

At PaperPlay Challenge we are inspiring you to whip out Chipboard. I have stashes of certain collections, so I was set for this challenge. About a year and a half I probably wouldn't even try entering this kind of challenge, if I didn't. But try to think outside the box and create your own. A little bit of pattern paper and some cardboard is just the start... the sky's your limit :)

Embellishments:  (Emma's Shoppe Collection - Chipboard) Crate Paper; (Thickers - Muse) Amy Tangerine

I saw this cute frame when I pulled out my Emma's Shoppe and knew I wanted to use it. The idea was to frame the word "Mum" since Mother's Day is just around the corner ;) I created a little backing with some pattern paper, because the letters need something to make 'em pop.

Everything came together pretty quickly. Some Baker's Twine and some more pattern paper...

Have you made your mother's day cards yet? I think I need to make one for the boy to give to his mum... Are you also crafting for his side of the family?

Anyways, hop on over to the other PPC girls and see what they have created for this week's challenge. They have always lovely creations and bring great ideas to the table!

Mum - For You

This week's PaperPlay Challenge is sponsored by a Inky Impressions. I haven't heard of this group myself until this week's challenge, but after scouting their website, I found some super cute stamps that will fit any occasion. To win a stamp and a goodie bag, you'll have to complete a cards for Mom/Mum. For those of you living in the US, it is never too early to be thinking about those Mother's Day cards!

My color scheme is inspired by a dear friend's card that I saw recently. Who can go wrong with cheery orange, pink and blues? 'Sides with all the cold weather and snow forecasted to come down on Thursday and Friday, I needed something warm and cheery.
